錄音文稿：	Installation and uninstallation of the software This software is based on Microsoft Windows system. Recommended configuration of the computer: Pentium CPU 500MHZ or above, true color video card, install Windows 98/Me/XP. Software Installation 1. Find the ‘Thick’ folder in the CD directory, open it and double click ‘Thick.exe’ to enter the installation wizard. 2. Click ‘Next’ button, enter the next installation interface, input your user name and organization in this window, and choose the user right for this software. Hint: You can edit User Name and Organization according to the requirement. 3. Click ‘Next’ button, enter the next interface. In this window, the default installation directory will be displayed. You can also click ‘Change’ button to edit your desired directory. Click ‘Change’ and the dialog will be displayed as below, choose an installation path. If you don’t want to change the directory, you can click ‘Next’ to continue. 4. Choose the right path and click ‘Ok’ button and enter the formal installation interface. 5. Left click ‘Install’ to continue automatically installation, click ‘Finish’ after installation. Notice: After installation, you should install Microsoft Office suite to make sure the report can be successfully imported to Excel. Software Uninstallation Left click (‘click’ for short) the ‘start’ at the bottom left corner on the Microsoft desktop Setting Control pannel Add or remove program, choose the ‘Thick’ program and remove it. Startup and introduction of the software Software startup Check the AC 220V input power for computer main box、monitor、spectrometer instrument、printer etc. Check the connectivity of the computer and the instrument. If it’s OK, turn on the power、instrument、printer、monitor and computer in order. Click the ‘start’ at the bottom left corner on the Microsoft desktop menu All program Skyray Instrument Inc Thick Thick.exe . The main interface of the software will be displayed later.(Fig 2-1), this indicate the startup of the software. Software Introduction Run the software, Menu Bar Tool Bar Status Bar Mouse pointed element information Spectrum Display Area Result Area The gragh is clear, in the interface, it has Menu bar、Tool bar、Status bar、Result bar、 Spectrum Display Area、Mouse pointed element information. On the top left the Workcurve、Work Spectrum、Instrument informations can be displayed, The middle is the display Area, the spectrum、Sample View、History will be displayed. You can observe the testing sample spectrum、testing position, and history in real-time. In History, you can export many testing results into Excel. Of course, you can save the information for each sample alone. This will be told in detail below. Below is the Detail function for each part: I． Menu bar In this software, the menu bar has these submenu: Parameter Setting, Work Curve, Work Spectrum, Qualitative Analysis, Total Analysis Report, Camera, Language, Version. 1、 Parameter Setting In the pull-down menu of ‘Parameter Setting’, it has: System Interface, Administrator, Suppliers, Thick express, Exit. System Interface: it has Parallel Port and USB . Choose according to the interface type. Administrator: To record the information of the administrators of this software. Suppliers: To input the source of the sample, it is propitious to monitor those unqualified suppliers. Thick express: You can choose two units: μm and μ’’ . Exit: Exit the software 2、 Work Curve In the pull-down menu of ‘Work Curve’, it has: Open Work Curve, Initialize Setting, Testing Parameter, Edit Elements, Edit Data. Open Work Curve: Create or delete the existed workcurves. Initialize Setting: Edit the required settings in initializing process. Testing Parameter: Edit the parameters in testing process. Edit Elements: Input the elements that you want to test. Edit Data: Edit the intensity and content of standard sample when building the workcurve in order to finish building the workcurve. 3、 Work Spectrum In the pull-down menu of Work Spectrum, it has : Open, Delete, Referrence Spectrum Info. Open: Open one existed work spectrum file. Delete: Delete the needless work spectrum file. Referrence Spectrum Info.: Open several existed tested spectrum files, displayed in the Spectrum display area. Convenient for comparing the standard spectrum with your testing spectrum. 4、 Qualitative Analysis In the pull-down menu of ‘Qualitative Analysis’, it has : Choose Qualitative Elements, Display Qualitative Elements, Display Peak Label, Automatically Qualitative Analysis, Qualitative Parameter. Choose Qualitative Elements: Choose the elements you want to observe. Display Qualitative Elements: Display the symbol of elements in the corresponding channel in the spectrum area. Display Peak Label: Display the peak labels for this workcurve. Automatically Qualitative Analysis: Automatically display the chosen elements everytime finishing test. Qualitative Parameter: Setting the qualitative elements’ Peak width, Peak height, Peak stick width, Peak offset, Peak to background ratio. 5、 Total Analysis Report In the pull-down menu of Total Analysis Report: Print and Save. Print: Print the result of the current spectrum. Save: Save the report to the computor as an electrical file. 6、 Camera In the pull-down menu of camera, it has: Video Source, Video Format, Video Parameter, Save Graphic. Because we are using the fixed camera now, so the ‘Video Source’, ‘Video Format’, ‘Video Parameter’, ‘Save Graphic’ are using the default value. 7、 Language In the pull-down menu of Language, it has: Local and English these two menu, you can choose between Simply Chinese or English. 8、 Version Click the ‘Version’, you can know the version information. II． Tool Bar Setting the test time Start to test Stop testing Calculate the content Initialize Expand Compress Print result III． Status Bar Status bar is composed of Work Curve, Work Spectrum, Instrument. Work Curve: Display the related information of work curve. Work Spectrum: Display the related information of work spectrum. Instrument: Display the related information of instrument. IV． Result Area The Result Area is composed of two parts: Test Result and Statistical result. Test Result: Display the test value and the test times of this sample. Statistical result: Display the Average Value, Standard Deviation, Maximum value and Minimum value of the same point. V． Spectrum Display Area Spectrum: Display the testing spectrum in real time. Sample View: We can observe the testing position of the sample. History: Record every testing results, you can make a statisic result from several testing and export to Excel. VI． Mouse pointed element information Energy Calibration: Display the mouse pointed element information. How to test a sample I． Choose a workcurve Open the Thick software and click ‘Work Curve’ – Open Work Curve. Choose one workcurve according to your requirement. II． Initialize Click the initialize tool on the Tool Bar, follow the hint to put the pure silver sample on the testing window, close the cover of the instrument, click OK. After finishing testing, get the pure Ag out . III． Setting the time Click the time tool , input the time. Click OK. IV． Start to measure Put the unknown sample on the testing window, adjust the testing position according to the ‘Sample View’, click the start button , start to test. V． Save and output the testing result After testing, the test result will be displayed in the Result Area, also it will be reported in History tag, click ToExcel to export the result to Excel. Or choose Total Analysis Report on the menu bar, you can print or save single testing report. Data backup and restore The data backup and restore is to make sure the test software is normal, we make a backup when the software is normal and restore the data when the software is abnormal. We copy the BlankCurve, DataBase, WorkCurves folders to another place in the disk or movable disk. The detailed steps are as follow: 1、 Right click the Thick on the desktop of your computer, Click Properties , click Find target to enter the software installation folder. The default directory is C：\Program Files\Skyray Instrument Inc\Thick. 2、 Choose the BlankCurve, DataBase, WorkCurves these three folders. Copy to another place. If the software is abnormal and you need to restore the data, you can follow the steps: 1．When you are installing the software, the default directory will be: C：Program Files\Skyray Instrument Inc\Thick. 2．Delete the existed BlankCurve, DataBase, WorkCurves in the software installation folder. Copy the backup back to the installation directory. 3．If you are installing the software for the first time, you just need to restore the data from the CD disk for the instrument. Attention: 1.The backup data made by our engineer is the standard data. Do not delete, it’s important. 2.When the software has problem, you can restore the data quickly in order to turn back to the normal working. Maintenance of the instrument Trouble is unavoidable. When the machine is broken down, solve the problem as you can; if you can't, please write down the symptoms and contact your local supplier. Do turn off PC, display, printer and instrument mainframe before you check connection. Hot line work is forbidden. Common troubles and corresponding solutions are as follows: 1. Nothing appears on the screen when PC is on Checking order: (1) Is the display switched on? (2) Is connection well between display and PC? (3) Is driver indicator on or buzzer screaming if you operate PC? If yes,there is no trouble in PC mainframe. Maybe there is something wrong with display or display card, and local computer company can repair it. (4) If driver indicator is off or buzzer is not screaming, listen carefully if power fan inside mainframe works. If it does not work, open the computer box and check if all plug-ins are well, disconnect spectrometer from PC, then turn on PC to check if it is OK. (5) If it still does not work, there is wrong with main board. You can ask you local computer company to replace it. 2. Time and count do not start when you click Test button during testing. Checking order: (1) Check if there is something wrong with connection between spectrometer and PC mainframe. (2) Fasten the connection with a screwdriver. 3. Obtained spectrum varies greatly from normal one while testing. Solution: Please notice your supplier of it 4. System halted, time not start and data not updated during testing Checking order: (1) An unstable power supply or immediate electrical impulses? Please configure AC purified regulated supply. (2) Too high room temperature? (3) Severe shakes around it? (4) Any interferences from power station, large electrical motor or electric welding? Grasp the handle of the glass cap and push upwards---- open the sample chamber. 2. Pull the movable sample platform completely out and place the sample under the laser point (the test point must be directed to the laser point). See the Figure. 3. Push the movable sample platform completely inside. Press the DOWNWARD COARSE TUNING BUTTON on the right side of the instrument. Note the sample diagram displayed on the software operating interface. When the laser point appears, shift to the DOWNWARD FINE TUNING BUTTON, letting the laser point be equally divided by the horizontal axis of the cross cursor. See the Figure Note: Pressing SPEED UP+ UP or DOWN means coarse tuning of the lift platform upward or downward. Pressing only UP or DOWN means fine tuning of the lift platform upward or downward. Warning: when tuning the height of the lift platform, do not put the tested material into the measurement window. 4. If the laser point is not correctly positioned, the following situations may occur. See the Figures. Situation One: the sample is a bit farther to the detector and X-ray tube; the sample is in point B, the focus point in O while the height tuning laser at point A. This will fail the measurement. The picture taken by the camera at this time is: Situation Two: the sample is a bit nearer to the detector and X-ray tube; the sample is in point B, the focus point in O while the height tuning laser at point A. The test point is also at point A. This will fail the measurement. The picture taken by the camera at this time is: The above two situations are caused by the laser point’s failing to be equally divided by the horizontal axis of the cross cursor, which leads to inaccurate results. At this time, it is necessary to adjust the height of the lift platform till the point is cut equally by the horizontal axis of the cross cursor. (Points A, B and O have been located at the same surface). See the Figure: The picture taken by the camera at this time is: At this moment, the position that the laser point directs to is the central point seen with the camera, adjust the height and start the measurement. 5、Fine tune the movable sample platform to make the laser point direct to the sample test point. Press the buttons to adjust the movable sample platform. 6、Grasp the handle of the cap and press downwards-----close the sample chamber. 7、Open the sample chamber, raise the lift platform, pull out the movable sample platform and take the sample out.
